This is our second game held on 7th June 2008 morning. The 20 participants were split into 2 teams. The team in black played for our Captain (Raymond) and the other team in green played for the Vice-Captain (Alan). The team with the higher team stable-ford point would win the Duffer’s Cup.
Everyone was all charged up and ready for the battle.
Unfortunately, after just 5 holes, we were all held at ransom at the Turning Point by Mr Rain.
Whilst being in “captive” at Turning Point, we all had our lethal Shot which proved to be too much for some. Our spirits were kept high by keeping our stomach filled with food and drinks. Miss Luck’s visit was also another highlight of our stay there.
After all the drink and fun, our Captain is so exhausted, and decided to release his stress.
Our patience and persistence did not manage to convince Miss Sunny to come out of hiding. Finally, after about 2 hours of waiting, the rain was stilling pouring, we decided to bail out and return to the clubhouse.
We had been looking forward to a victory celebration. Needless to say, it was a disappointing day for all of us. We were all dressed and had nowhere to go, except for our banquet lunch.
As the group is still keen on an outcome, Ivan has agreed to help organise the match for another day before our next game in August (Lychee game).
The Duffer’s Cup is a beautiful trophy of a golfer making a swing with his golf club, similar to our logo. At the moment, it is undergoing some enhancement works under the tender care of Richard. It can be sure that all of us cannot wait to make our mark on this trophy.
Our sincere gratitude to our generous sponsors for Duffer’s Cup:
· Chee Cheow Eng Tequila, $100 cash, caps
· Alan Loi Duffer’s Cup (specially delivery by Daryl)
· Alfie Lee Balls
May the worriers of the Captain and Vice Captain meet again for a deciding match very soon.
